According to The Decoder, Kernion attributed this change to the optimization of Claude for tasks like math, coding, and technical explanations aimed at other AI systems.
This focus, he explained, led to the text becoming "overly-dense info dumps" when read by humans, impacting the perceived quality of writing. While the latest Opus 5.5 update attempts to address these style issues, Kernion acknowledged that the earlier Opus 4.6 version still holds the edge as a pure writing model.
