Anthropic is reportedly pressing ahead with its initial public offering (IPO) before Thanksgiving, aiming for a valuation between $1.25 trillion and $1.75 trillion. According to The Decoder, the company hopes to raise between $80 billion and $100 billion despite recent volatility in the tech sector.
The planned valuation marks a significant reduction from Anthropic’s earlier target of $2 trillion. The Decoder also notes that OpenAI, a key competitor in the AI space, has recently had to lower its own valuation amid similar market pressures.
For Japanese investors, Anthropic’s IPO highlights ongoing global shifts in tech valuations, which could influence investment flows and market sentiment in Asia’s technology and innovation sectors.
