The Australian Dollar slipped to around 0.6970 against the US dollar following comments from Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) Governor Michele Bullock. Despite her hawkish tone, the AUD/USD pair fell approximately 0.3%, reflecting market caution.

According to FX Street, Bullock indicated that further interest rate increases remain on the table at the RBA’s August 10–11 meeting. She cited persistently high inflation and weak productivity as key reasons for potentially tightening monetary policy further.

For Japanese investors and traders, the RBA’s stance adds another layer of complexity when assessing risk in the Asia-Pacific region, especially as currency moves impact cross-border trade and investment strategies.
