Bitget, a global crypto exchange, has announced its decision to withdraw from the Japanese market. According to CoinTelegraph, the platform stopped accepting new registrations from Japanese residents starting November 1 and will progressively restrict existing accounts thereafter.
All remaining positions held by Japanese users are set to be closed by December 31, marking the official end of Bitget’s services in Japan. This move reflects a broader trend of crypto exchanges adjusting their operations in response to evolving regulatory landscapes in the region.
Japanese investors remain highly engaged with both domestic and international crypto platforms, making such market exits significant for local liquidity and user options.
