Dianping, a subsidiary of Meituan, held an awards ceremony in Kuala Lumpur on August 26 to unveil the latest overseas editions of its Must-Eat and Must-Visit Lists, marking a key step in its international expansion, according to KrASIA.
The Must-Eat List has expanded this year to include 20 new cities, while the Must-Visit List debuted across 33 cities and regions, covering locations such as Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and other overseas markets. This broad rollout reflects Dianping’s growing focus on global markets.
Tao Xuexuan, who was appointed general manager of Dianping in mid-April, is overseeing these initiatives. For Japanese investors and traders, Dianping’s international growth highlights the increasing cross-border development trends among Asian tech platforms, which could influence regional market dynamics.
