The Japanese Yen weakened modestly against the US Dollar in Asian trading following recent joint intervention efforts by Japan and the US. According to FX Street (MUFG), the USD/JPY pair hovered near its 200-day moving average around 158.00, reflecting this slight depreciation.

On Tuesday, the Yen trimmed some of its earlier gains against the Dollar, with USD/JPY rising to the mid-157.00s from Monday’s lows at 155.23, FX Street reported. This move suggests a modest pullback after the intervention aimed at stabilizing the currency.

Given ongoing volatility in global FX markets, the Bank of Japan’s efforts to manage the Yen’s value remain closely watched, particularly as the currency approaches key technical levels that influence export-driven equities and broader financial markets.
