Meta has introduced Muse, a new AI agent designed to streamline tasks such as booking travel, managing purchases, sending emails, and negotiating prices within WhatsApp. According to The Decoder, Muse features a payment system powered by Stripe's Link, enabling seamless transactions directly through the messaging app.
To enhance security, Meta has also deployed a dedicated agent named Sentinel, which monitors every action executed by Muse before it reaches the internet. This layered approach aims to safeguard user interactions and data during AI-driven processes.
The Decoder notes that Muse positions Meta ahead of competitors like OpenAI, which recently discontinued its direct checkout feature in ChatGPT. For Japanese markets, where mobile payment adoption and AI integration are rapidly evolving, Meta's move could accelerate digital commerce and communication trends.
