Meta has introduced Muse Gadgets, an open-source initiative that allows hobbyists to create AI hardware using ESP32 boards and link them to Meta's AI agent called Muse, according to The Decoder. This project aims to empower developers and enthusiasts to experiment with AI integration at a hardware level.
The team behind Muse Gadgets has already produced 5,000 units of the 'Muse Home Link,' a USB-C device designed for smart home control, The Decoder reported. This device serves as a practical example of how users can implement AI-driven smart home solutions with accessible hardware.
For Japanese markets, where smart home technology and AI adoption continue to grow rapidly, Meta's open-source approach could encourage local developers to innovate and expand AI hardware applications, potentially influencing both the consumer electronics and IoT sectors.
