Researchers have developed a novel approach to AI memory management by replacing the traditional growing chat logs with five structured memory layers. This method keeps the AI's prompt size steady at around 5,000 tokens, preventing it from ballooning to over 500,000 tokens, according to The Decoder.

The enhanced memory system enabled an AI agent to win 6 out of 10 games in the strategy card game Slay the Spire 2, while competing agents without this upgrade failed to secure any victories. This suggests that more efficient memory management can significantly improve AI performance in complex tasks.

For Japanese markets, where AI-driven trading algorithms and automation are increasingly important, advances like these could translate into more efficient and effective decision-making systems across FX, crypto, and equities sectors.
