OpenAI has introduced Computer History, a new tool designed to record user interactions such as clicks, keystrokes, and application switches on Mac devices. This data is compiled into a searchable timeline that integrates with OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Codex platforms, according to The Decoder.
The recorded information is stored locally on the user’s device as unencrypted Markdown files. OpenAI has stated that this data will not be used directly for AI training; however, any memories generated during chats that incorporate this data could still contribute to training datasets, The Decoder reported.
