The People's Bank of China (PBOC) established the USD/CNY central reference rate at 6.7904 for the upcoming trading session on Friday, marking a slight increase from the previous day’s 6.7895, according to FX Street.
This rate also came in above the Reuters estimate of 6.7548, indicating a modest adjustment in the yuan’s valuation against the US dollar. The central reference rate serves as a key benchmark for trading activity in the Chinese currency market.
For Japanese investors and traders, monitoring the PBOC’s reference rate is crucial due to the close economic ties and the impact of yuan movements on regional FX and equity markets.
