A recent study involving over 2,500 participants revealed that people are unable to reliably distinguish short stories generated by ChatGPT from those written by humans. According to The Decoder, participants performed no better than chance when asked to identify the author of each story.
Interestingly, the AI-generated stories initially received higher ratings compared to human-written ones. However, these ratings dropped once participants were informed that the stories were machine-produced, The Decoder reported.
This research highlights the growing sophistication of AI in creative fields, a trend that Japanese markets are closely monitoring as AI-generated content begins to influence media, marketing, and financial communications within the region.
