West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil prices declined to around $80.50 during early European trading hours on Friday, driven by profit-taking activity despite ongoing tensions in the Middle East. According to FX Street, the price drop occurred even as regional conflicts continue to pose supply concerns.

Increased maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic oil transit chokepoint, also contributed to easing market fears and weighed on prices. Traders appeared to capitalize on recent gains, leading to the pullback in WTI crude.

For Japanese investors, fluctuations in oil prices remain critical, given Japan's reliance on imported energy and the impact of commodity costs on both equities and the broader economy.
