Anthropic has revised its Claude Fable 5 usage limits and pricing structure for several subscription plans, according to The Decoder. Starting July 20, users on the Max and Team Premium plans will receive only 50 percent of the usual usage limits, which themselves are being reduced by a third on the same date.
For Pro plan users, Anthropic is offering a one-time $100 credit before transitioning them to pay API rates, The Decoder reported. This marks a shift from the company’s earlier plan to remove Claude Fable 5 entirely from subscription packages.
The decision appears to be driven by competitive pressure from OpenAI’s more affordable GPT-5.6 Sol offering. For Japanese markets, where cost-efficiency is critical for AI adoption in FX and equities trading, such pricing adjustments could influence platform choices among institutional users.
