Chery Automobile has released its first interim financial results since listing in Hong Kong, reporting a 51% year-on-year increase in overseas revenue and a 63.8% rise in new energy vehicle sales for the first half of 2026, according to KrASIA.

For the six months ended June 30, the company recorded total revenue of RMB 143.28 billion (USD 21.3 billion), marking a modest 1.2% growth compared to the same period last year. Gross profit rose significantly by 25.1% to RMB 23.04 billion (USD 3.4 billion), with the gross profit margin improving to 16.1% from 13% previously.

These results highlight Chery's expanding footprint in international markets and its strong push into the new energy vehicle sector, trends that Japanese investors closely watch amid regional competition and shifting consumer preferences in the automotive industry.
