Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC is expanding its investment approach in artificial intelligence. According to KrASIA, the fund is moving beyond its previous focus on semiconductor firms and AI developers to include companies that utilize AI to enhance overall corporate value.

GIC CEO Lim Chow Kiat told KrASIA that the fund is concentrating on large publicly listed companies that are actively experimenting with AI technology. This shift marks a broader strategy to tap into AI’s potential to drive business performance across various sectors.

For Japanese investors, this development signals growing global interest in AI applications beyond hardware and software, reflecting a trend that could influence investment flows in Japan’s own AI and technology markets.
