Google Research has introduced SensorFM, a foundational model trained on extensive wearable sensor data aimed at advancing health and behavioral task performance. According to The Decoder, SensorFM was developed using over a trillion minutes of data collected from five million users of Fitbit and Pixel Watch devices.

The model demonstrates impressive results, outperforming existing benchmarks in 34 out of 35 evaluated health and behavioral tasks. This breakthrough highlights the potential of large-scale data-driven models to improve the accuracy and utility of health monitoring through wearable technology.

For Japanese markets, where wearable adoption and health tech investments are growing rapidly, SensorFM's advancements could accelerate innovation and competitiveness in local FX, crypto, and equities sectors linked to health technology companies.
