Moonshot AI’s latest model, the Kimi K3.1 Pro, achieved 55 points on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, marking an 11-point improvement over its predecessor and securing fourth place, according to The Decoder.

Only three models from Anthropic and Meta rank higher, with Moonshot closing the performance gap to just three points behind Anthropic’s Claude Opus 5.5. The Decoder noted that if Moonshot releases the model's weights as planned, this gap between open and proprietary models could narrow further.

This development highlights growing competition in AI capabilities, which could influence technology adoption in Japan’s rapidly evolving tech and financial markets, where advanced AI tools are increasingly integrated into trading and analytics.
