Nvidia has developed a new system called SoL-Pi that optimizes the control layer between AI models and their environments, significantly reducing token usage by coding agents. According to The Decoder, this innovation can cut token consumption by up to 49 percent with minimal impact on performance.
The development of SoL-Pi involved extensive research, with a research agent testing 152 different approaches across more than 3,000 runs to refine the system. While the most notable gains were observed in coding agents, The Decoder noted that improvements were smaller on other benchmark tests.
