The People's Bank of China (PBOC) established the USD/CNY central reference rate at 6.7367 for Thursday's trading session, marking a modest increase from the previous rate of 6.7351 set last Wednesday, according to FX Street.

Notably, this official fixing came in above the Reuters estimate, which anticipated the rate at 6.7254. The central reference rate serves as a benchmark for the Chinese yuan’s trading band in the foreign exchange market.

For Japanese investors and traders, the PBOC’s slight adjustment signals continued cautious management of the yuan amid ongoing regional trade and monetary policy dynamics, factors that can influence FX market volatility across Asia.
