The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has decided to maintain its policy rate at 5.25%, keeping a neutral stance on monetary policy. This move has supported a firmer USD/INR exchange rate following the pair’s recent test of a one-month low.

According to FX Street, the RBI’s unanimous decision to hold the policy rate steady and maintain a neutral bias has contributed to the strengthening of the USD/INR. Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) also noted that the currency pair gained ground after hitting its lowest point in a month.

For Japanese investors, monitoring the USD/INR is important given the increasing trade and investment flows between India and Japan, which can influence currency exposure and portfolio strategies in the region.
