Societe Generale analysts Kunal Kundu and Galvin Chia have characterized the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) August policy as neutral for the Indian Rupee (INR), according to FX Street. The bank's stance reflects a balanced approach without significant directional impact on the currency.

The RBI, under Governor Malhotra, remains focused on defending the INR within the 97 band onshore. Governor Malhotra also expressed the view that the Indian Rupee is not undervalued, reinforcing the central bank's position in managing currency stability.

For Japanese investors, understanding RBI’s steady approach is crucial as it influences INR volatility and broader emerging market dynamics, which can affect FX and equity exposure linked to India.
