The US Dollar Index hovered near 99.50 before opening at its 200-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) and subsequently slipping to a session low just above 99.25, according to FX Street.

The index fell roughly a tenth of a percent from its opening level, failing to hold above the 200-day EMA in the early minutes of trading. This move pushed the Dollar Index below the established August trading range, signaling potential short-term weakness.

For Japanese investors, the Dollar’s retreat below key technical support levels may influence currency pairs such as USD/JPY, impacting FX and equities markets sensitive to dollar strength.
