Anthropic’s latest AI model, Claude Opus 5, has taken the lead on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, scoring 61 points. According to The Decoder, Claude Opus 5 matches or surpasses its predecessor Claude Fable 5 across most benchmarks, including analytical quality and coding performance.
The Decoder also reports that Claude Opus 5 edges out competitors such as GPT-5.6 Sol while offering significant cost advantages. At lower reasoning tiers, Claude Opus 5 can cost up to half as much as Claude Fable 5, making it a more economical choice for businesses requiring AI-powered analysis.
This development is particularly relevant for Japanese markets, where cost efficiency and high analytical accuracy are critical factors for financial institutions and tech companies integrating AI into FX, crypto, and equity trading strategies.
