The US Dollar gained ground against major currencies and indices on Tuesday as investors positioned themselves ahead of the Federal Reserve’s upcoming monetary policy announcement on Wednesday. According to FX Street, the US Dollar Index (DXY) climbed to 99.60, driven primarily by movements in the bond market.
FX Street also reported that the USD/JPY pair traded near 155.20 on Tuesday, marking a second consecutive day of gains and distancing itself from the roughly seven-month low seen last week. The DXY remained firm near a two-week high, trading around 99.66 with a daily increase of 0.17%.
This dollar strength comes at a crucial time for Japanese investors, as fluctuations in the USD/JPY rate can impact export-driven equities and influence foreign exchange strategies ahead of the Federal Reserve’s policy update. Additionally, US Treasury yields and oil prices remain key factors to watch in the broader market context.
