US equity futures for the Dow Jones, S&P 500, and Nasdaq 100 all declined during European trading hours on Thursday, pressured by a notable rise in US Treasury yields. According to FX Street, Dow Jones futures fell 0.56%, trading near 51,160, while S&P 500 futures dropped 0.28% to around 7,830. Nasdaq 100 futures also slipped 0.44%, hovering near 31,270.
The surge in Treasury yields has increased borrowing costs, prompting investors to reassess risk assets such as equities. This dynamic contributed to the downward momentum observed across major US indices in the futures market during the European session.
For Japanese investors, the movement in US futures and Treasury yields remains critical as it often influences risk sentiment and currency flows, particularly affecting the yen and Japan’s export-driven equity markets.
