Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Li Auto is set to expand its battery supply chain by adding China Aviation Lithium Battery (CALB) as its third battery supplier, according to KrASIA.
KrASIA also reported that CALB’s batteries will initially be integrated into Li Auto’s battery electric vehicle models, with the Li i6 model likely to be the first to feature these new batteries.
This move highlights Li Auto’s strategy to diversify its battery sourcing amid growing competition in the EV market. For Japanese investors, this development signals increased collaboration within China’s EV supply chain, which could influence regional battery technology trends and competition.
