The US Dollar gained ground against several major currencies and precious metals on Monday, driven by expectations of a hawkish Federal Reserve and rising geopolitical tensions. According to FX Street, USD/CHF approached a 16-month high at 0.8314 during European trading hours, while USD/CAD edged higher to around 1.4155 amid the same sentiment.

Meanwhile, NZD/USD traded near 0.5660, halting a three-day losing streak despite the Dollar's strength. In Japan, USD/JPY opened near 157 and fluctuated within a 156–159 range during the country’s extended holiday week, supported by the Dollar's momentum and anticipation of an earlier Fed rate hike, FX Street reported.

Precious metals suffered notable declines, with silver dropping 4.3% to about $61.50 and gold falling below $4,200, pressured by elevated US Treasury yields and geopolitical risks. For Japanese investors, these moves underscore the importance of monitoring Fed policy shifts and global tensions amid ongoing market volatility.
